on my quadcab im just gonna use the 4runner headliner... should work shouldnt it? Granted it has a hole in it for the sunroof but that can easily be filled instead of building a whole new headliner.

maz duh, great idea, think finding a 84-88 extra cab @ the wreckers is a long shot, & if any out there they would want a more money than it would be worth!

Maybe the wreckers isn't the best place to score a roof Gary. Try some of the local tow companies in your area. Sometimes if a vehicle has sat in impound long enough that the tow company winds up owning it they will send them out for scrap. If you can catch them before they are scrapped out sometimes they will let you buy parts off of them. I've got a few items this way over the years myself. Local scrap metal yards(not auto wreckers) that deal in cars will somtimes sell stuff for cheap. We had a guy in our area who would let us trade pound for pound on stuff he had for scrap in his yard. I got a pickup box for my Datsun from him and all I had to do was give him my smashed up one in return. Maybe someone on here has a roof that they could help you out with perhaps . All ideas anyways, maybe one of them will work out for you, good luck.

well, i called pull a part to get an idea of how much a yota roof would be. they said like 15 bucks. back glass comes out easy, windshield too. then ill just hack saw the pillars up high. i need one with a headliner though. ill make a plaster reverse mold of the stock one in the truck and then use that reverse mold to make a fiberglass board. my buddy from work has a shitload of mat he isnt in need of. i could make a few of them if people are interested. i yanked mine out today to get my sunroof in tomorrow. i think it would work pretty good. might have to use a few screws in it at the edges or something, but i could work that out. id perfer hidden mounting myself.

so yeah. im thinking somewhere around 80-100 shipped per board if anybody wants one. it would use alot of resin, and thats like 35 a gallon. so yeah, let me know. on here or pm.

i needed a roof for my truck and there was one at a mechanic and it was crashed. they were gonna send it to the junk yard so i went by and cut the roof off first..

gary, these guys arent understanding that your headliner is suspended and u cant just glass over that... and anyone who thinks its "easy" to cut a roof off a random truck and make a fiberglass mold real quick is crazy... lol, on my toyota we used some thinner sort of flexible laminate board, same board we used on my door panels, made one big piece to go over the middle, then the sides are seperate pieces so that the middle just overlaps them...sounds complicated but really not, looks super custom and works great, the downside is that it may hang a inch or 2 lower than the stock headliner, but since your truck isnt bodydropped, u shouldnt have a problem... we then just wrapped it all in suede...heres some pics , lemme know if u need any help
