eddie.. how much you think a 84-88 would cost me around about?

You should be able to pick one up for between $150 and $300. Just depends where you go. I've been getting my axles from salvage yards lately. Its about $50 more than pick-n-pull, but SOOO worth my time not to have to pull it myself. I just show up and they put it in the bed and I leave. Usually around $220 give or take, the pull a part places are about $175.

i got one for my old 92, complete with brakes for like 108. but i had to pull it myself. and the ebrake cables sucked. couldnt unhook them because it was joined between the frame and gas tank. so, i had to take the rear brakes apart.

anyways, if it helps anybody with a 78 bodystyle truck, i have 16x7"s with +40mm offset and a 225/50/16 on my 78. due to the camber, they tuck very nice up front. and in the back, it will be pretty close. in the future, ill probably find a +45 or so just to pull them in a bit. for the record, the acura RSX has a nice 5 spoke 17x7 with +45 and our pattern. and they have a 215/45/17, which is 24.5" tall. so, used ones are a good deal.

Is the gear ratio the same in 79-83 as 89-95

Any way to ID a 7.5 pretaco rear end vs a 8" pretaco rear end?

I'm looking to swap in a beefier rear end into my Tacoma, but want the narrower width to get more meet under it.

Just looking for options..
