There was a small article a number of years back in Sport Truck Mag where some dudes were doing this and upon mounting a 22" Tire on the "Milled Incorrectly" Alcoa, the outer hoop busted off with such force that it was shot across a Shop. This is no joke, imagine if you did get it mounted as some have and then take the 'Mini'Trucker' route and drive on, just imagine what could happen to whom ever is in the path of some T6 Aluminum. Headed in their direction...

I remember that. That shit came out in the mag and all of a sudden everybody everywhere was an expert on why you shouldn't mill semi wheels and it's unsafe and children could get killed and blar zar lar.

Did the truth ever come out about that deal?

Too much material was taken off and I believe the wheel was fatigued to begin with prior to machining
