something is wrong with the wireing on my truck and want to rewire the alt with bigger wire from the alt to the batt will this hurt anything and i want to bypass the fusebox and other comp crap ...anyone know whats the best way to rewire it

i wired straight from my alt to my batt with no probs. i used 2g wire.

was it a efi bullshit...i got a 22re ...well what my prob is when i take the alt to have it checked its says its fine....put it on the truck then have it checked andit says low output...anyone have anyideas...

i hadthe same problem are you runing one or two batt i fornd when i put in the second i needed a bigger ground

yeah i keep hearing upsize the ground. my truck is a throttle body injection. still computer crap.

Only thing you need to check out before you do this, is....where is your voltage regulator? Most trucks have them built into the alt. Some dont. Just check and be sure....

what about a temp fix for the show im at ...if i was to hook some jumper cables to the alt and to the batt would this help....what other things can it be ...i have 4 gauge going from the frame to the motor...would i neeed more...mabe another on the other side...anyone done a dual alt on a 93 22 re ....i still have the stock 60amp alt and running 2 comps and some amps...just got a yellow top and now the alt is not keeping up...i think it has something to do with the alt ...and plan to get a 160amp when i get the money...but would my temp fix work?

to tell the truth you need to look into running two batts one for your truck and one for your amps and compresers i would dump the optamas and go with some Kanetic batt just a thoght

I had the same problem with my old S10. I was running the truck, 2 compressors, and 3 amps. I finally said screw it and got a bigger alternator and it solved all of my problems.
