lifts?

i have a 97 tacoma 4wd \w 4 banger,i was thinkin maybe 6 in fabtech lift ,and 3 in body lift(are body lifts bad?) i have 33's on it should i have any gearing probs?(wanting to go bigger soon)im still using it as a daily driver and dont want to make the 4 into a gas hog.......any suggestions?

even though im not max i guess ill give you my sh*tty input. FABTECH BLOWS. i have it on my daily driver and have had to replace ball joints and control arm bushings 2 times in 3 years and their going again i think. it may just be s10s but it sucks. as for the body lift ill leave that to him cause i have no idea good luck tho man.

ALL LIFTS ARE DIFFERENT FOR ALL TRUCKS, YOU NEED TO TALK TO ONLY PEOPLE THAT HAVE THE SAME TRUCK AS YOU.

You will make the mileage worse as you put bigger tires on it just because of the weight and the resistance. You really should look into a smaller gear for it. And theres nothing wrong with a body lift, they have been used forever pretty much.

well we had a "storm" over here (people act like they never heard the wind blow before) anyways i had fun in it and i realized im gunna do a body lift asap cuase tires rub bad when in deep snow\mud.i did not get stuck once.kinda sucks gettin out to lock in hubs though........you think performance accessories 3 inch from jegs is allrite? its $160.00

I had a yota with 5" suspension lift and 3" body lift and I ran 35" on the street with zero rubbing issues (mine was a 92). Running that large of tires with stock gears will kill your gas milage. With my 2.4 I only got like 10-14MPG. However, there are tons of aftermarket gears available for the toyota differentials; you can even buy fully assembled 3rd members to swap your out with. I think you can get gears as high as 5:71. If you up the gear ratio in the diffs. it should help out the milage if you decide to run bigger tires when you lift the truck. Hope this helps a lil.

I couldn't tell you anything about lifts. I know how to lift and of course the geometry involved, but not anything about specific kits.

I can tell you that I don't like body lifts, but many times it is the only way to get the truck tall enough to clear the tires you want.

body lifts are ok but they dont look very good and i wouldnt go wheelin with it my buddy got rended with one and it pushed eveything into the motor i would go with this http://www.extremegearoffroad.com/straight_axle.htm
