Which clip is going to be the best one for the most clearance as far as stuffing huge rims under them?

73-87 is pretty wide, and also tall. You can stuff 24s under it.

yeah but they change from 73-87 i remember hearing someone say they sit differently so you can fit bigger wheels under it

They change a few times. But they are always the same height, and same width, on the same frame. All they changed was the grille and the way the fender blends into it. And on the first series clips the hood and cowl where one piece.

Seth is right with it being the same frame and same track width. You can go as big as u want with which ever front suspension they are the same from 60-87 what they did change of course was drums up front they also changed ball joints. But as long as u put disc in front if its an older style to be safe u can lay whatever u want. I have seen one guy clip a newer style silverado front on his

Actually the early frame clips (pre 73 I think) used a slightly different crossmember, spindle, and control arms. The biggest difference I see is the early trucks use steel greaseable bushings. I'm not sure what years came with what exactly, but my front had a 71 and a 73, and those are the differences I see. I'll be using his trucks to model some control arms for these trucks.

71-72 started 5 lug but 73 was a nwer style i know cuz i swapped all my 68 parts over to it. The outter tie rods too changed
