my wife wants a rat rod

brandon is right on the money there man! build a traditional hot rod! not an "old skool" rat rod death trap. they didnt build shit like that in the good ol days anyway! dangerous piece of rusted shits were never a hot rod trend!

throwing a bunch of grandmas nick nack junk from the farm on your rusted piece of shit was never "cool"! some of those rat-rods look like they drove through a cracker barrell restaurant and junk got hung on it! HAHA!

i agree that rat rods and trad rods are two diff things..but i actually like rat rods as long as they are safe and not total rust buckets..i just like the look of a rod with patina...when i build this sedan im not touching the outside of it except to chop it and ill blend my welds back in to match the rest of it

i like hot rods both finished and in progress but i hate the term "rat rod" and i hate cars that are thrown together by people who don't know what they're doing and only building one 'cause they want to fit in or because it's cool. i know back in the day they used what they could afford but they were still put together well and not some pile of junk with no floors, transmsion and driveshaft exposed, scary suspension setups, etc, etc. i think yours will come out great.

i would not generalize that Old School Rodz is all unsafe shitboxes but it definately has it's share thier is no argument there. But I think some of the feature quality has gone up lately and Deluxe is even better. But you can get your ideas from anywhere just make sure you know what you are looking at and can distinguish the junk from the well crafted sometimes there is a fine line. Out of those three picks though Lucky I would say the first one would be more Jimmy Shine's personality than the 3rd one. I like all three though and this is definatley a cool thread. My wife doesnt understand the traditional look at all.
