ok, i'm keeping my system from my s10 and putting it in my burban. i have 2 audiobahn aw1200q's, and i finally found a place online that still sells them (since they were discontinued about 3 years ago). So my question is should i get 1 more or 2? I don't know about having 3 subs, would it work? I don't think i've seen an odd number of subs in a vehicle before, would the 2 cancel the one out or something? I think i have enough room to go 4 wide, but i'd have to get a newer mono amp. Also, each sub is dual voice coil, if i wire them in series, can i just use 1 mono amp for all? I have a 1 farad capacitor, would i need to get another one? Sorry, it's been a long while since i did any stereo stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

what ohm are the subs you have now?

depending on what ohm your subs are now will tell you alot on what you can do... I have 4 12s in my ranger, and 2 separate amps, and its a pain in the ass setting both amps to be hitting the same, so i would reccommend if your gonna buy a new amp, just buy one nice amp and it will be much easier...

Just run 2 12's in a ported box to the woofers spec's. No need to go 3 or 4. Not worth it.

One 13 inch JLW7. I promise you it will give you more than enough bass, with the ease of only installing one subwoofer. I had to brace my backwall to keep the rear glass from falling out...that's the kind of pressure one sub is puttin out in my truck.

Your 1200q's are dual 4 ohms. Wouldnt work with 3, have to do 4 unless you have a kickass amp thats stable at .5 ohm

personally i would run even number subs 2 or 4 or whatever an if ur gone run 4 audiobahns get u a nice 1 ohm stable am an wire each sub at 8 ohm tha positive to negative an then the same out the box tha will bring 4 down 2 a 2 ohm an if u get a 1ohm stable amp that is made like a 2 channel amp then run 2 per each channel if its a mono output then wire 2 subs together an run 2 wires 2 the amp makes it alot easier an cleaner lookin

ok, this is how it's wired now:

pos------pos------pos------pos------------posvc1 sub1 vc2 vc1 sub2 vc2 ampneg------neg------neg------neg------------neg

wish i could do pics, but hopefully you get the picture. So to add 2 more, can i just run them inline the same way and get a bigger amp, or just do the same thing and keep my amp just add another?

ok, the amp is supposed to be under the last pos, for some reason i can't move it over there.

wha kind of amp do u got now an basically look at the sub there a voice coil on each side if they audiobahns run a jumpre wire from 1 neg on the sub 2 the pos on the opposite side an then run it the same way to the terminal or out the box straight to the amp depends if u got terminals

go under wiring diagrams.

Like i said before, matters what amp you run how you want to wire it.

Check out the pics. It will help you decide how you want to wire it once you find out what your amps stable at.
