We just turn the key and it will turn over but no fire. For the life of god we can not figure it out at all. please help me get this damn truck running!!!! LOL

take the computer out of the passenger kick panel, open it up (carefully) and look at the capacitors on the circuit boards. If they are swollen and leaking, you have found the problem.

Also, dont forget the obvious, take off the distributor cap and have someone crank the motor for just a split second. If the distributor rotor doesnt turn, you have a broken timing chain.

Ok thanks Russ. We have already done both of those!! Took the computer to a guy who rebuilds them and it tested just fine. He put it in another 2600i and it fired right up. And also done the whole distributor thing and everything is fine there.

you checked for power at the coil?

also, in your list of replaced parts I dont see a rotor.

Yes the rotor button has been replaced and no there is not any fire at the coil!!!!

if there is no spark at the coil, you have a primary ignition problem, the coil gets its negative from the module in the distributor. when the connection to ground is broken, the primary winding magnetic feild breaks down making the secondary windings release a pulse through any available ground, which is convieniently provided by the rotor passing by a terminal in the dirtibutor and down to the sparkplug grounded in the head. You need to scope or use a continuity tester on the wire from the distributor and make sure it is opening the connection. If its not, the problem is in the sensor in the distributor, or it could be that the ground to the engine block is disconnected.

All your grounds connected properly? Body ground, engine ground, interior ground for the ignition and computer?

even if a ground is connected, does it not need to be removed and checked for corosion??? not proper current grounding out
