but there is no shaft, the column, has the rubber connector thing, and the box. The box is NEXT to the firewall...
I basically laid it out, cut out the firewall around the column, body dropped it, then bolted the column to the box, then looked at the stock holes to see what i needed to do to make it work. I think I justed sloted some holes, and it bolted right up. then build a new hole and cover on the firewall under the dash where it passes through

^^^ did u Z your frame? the problem i see is that the brake booster is in the way, in order to go bore than about an inch or so?..
do u have any pics of the way u did urs?

or does anyone else have pics of a mitsu steering modified?

Nah, I didnt z mine, and couldnt find any good pics. You can do what I said, and it will set behind the booster some, I dont know if that will give you enough room or not... Also, I moved my booster toward the engine about an inch. Just redrilled the holes, and modded the pedal for it to "bolt" onto.
