I'm thinking about buying up a D50 a few miles from my house for a daily vehicle for my to and from work trips. What kind of gas milage are you guys with these trucks getting and what should I look for as far as engine problems before buying a truck like this? I don't know much about these trucks at all so any info people can give me would be greatly appreciated

If it is a 90-96 with the FI 2.4 I could almost pull almost 30 mpg with my 91 and it had 170,000 miles with out a rebuild on it. I just bought an '89 extended cab with a 2.6 (carbed) and it is getting in the low 20s with a webber for the carb. I say the 2.4 has less issues then the rest. The 2.6 like to over heat and mess up the heads and the older 2.0 carbs are like the 2.4 but not as much gas milage. You can't go wrong with a MM.

Thanks man this guy said its a 93 long bed. he doesn't know what size motor. Hes not all there in the head from what I can tell and I haven't seen the truck yet. I've always had a soft spot for these little d50/MM trucks and my drive to work is all city.

well if its a 93, its got the 2.4L fuel injected. the only problem is i dont think they made a long bed in 1993. i think they stopped making long beds in 91-92

Ernie You of all people would know more than me thats why I had to come on here and start asking questions. I'm kinda hoping its a short bed in decent body shape. Whats the lug pattern size on these trucks?
