just put a piece of 2" pipe where the beam hits the pan, weld it in there kinda frenched, thats how i did mine on my 91

what do you mean? weld it to what?
pewter2000   +1y
where the beam hits, mark the pan, remove it,cut out the section you need, but do it exactly the width of the pipe than fill the hole w/the pipe, weld done!

how much clearance is there between the pan and the crank shaft...and my pan is aluminum i believe

anyone else have any ideas or pics?

swap to a steel pan, theres a lil bit of clearance. have fun with i beams 20s and a box body. ill love my no camber and plenty of lift with my yota clip over the shitty ass ibeams. who cares what everyone is doin.

Not sure why you'd be concerned about the yota clip when it the principle of the matter that counts. If you want to avoid the pain the clip is the best way out however, it has been done before what your attempting so it isn't impossible. But not worth the time, pain, and effort in my opinion. But it will have some nasy @$$ camber for sure.

i know its a pain, i know its gonna have crazy ass camber and i know it doesnt matter what everyone else is doin i just wanna do somethin that has a very low chance of me seein on another truck at a show i go to...chance of me runnin into another box body ranger thats body dropped on 20s and is still rollin on beams is very unlikely...the trucks not a daily driver anymore so im not too worried about tires i just want somethin as unique as possible...just lookin for other peoples ideas and information so i can mix things up and come up with my own creation

I did this on a 91. It layed 20's with beams. Here is what I did.... first cut the front cab mounts off the frame, then made one out of 6" angle with no bushing and little gussets in order to make room for the longer radius arms. Next I slipped a piece of 2" heavy wall square tube over the end of the stock radius arm and welded it on. I don't remember the length of the tube but I made it so the bag would mount halfway down the now longer radius arm. Then I welded a bushing end on the square tube and pressed a leaf spring bushing in it. I did all of this with the arm still on the truck. Also, I forgot to mention to cut the old radius arm mount off the frame. Then I took the now unused rear spring hangers from the rear end of the truck and used them as mounts for the now longer radius arms. I turned them 90 degrees so the faced the front of the truck instead of down. I Put the upper bag mount as far up under the cab's floor as I could.(you could massage the footwell if you had to, but I didn't) I put the lower on the square tube part of the radius arm lined up under the upper. I used 90 degree fittings and 2600# bags. I originally tried to use 2500's but they didn't give me enough lift. Where the I beams hit the crossmember(on the 91 I did, they hit the crossmember, not the pan) I pipe notched it, as well as the frame where the tie rods hit. The truck layed 20"s, had insane lift, and rode like a lincoln. Hope this helps. Sorry I don't have pics.

Oh yeah, the truck had dropped beams on it.
