So a friend of mine is putting a 5.0 in his ranger he is running the fuel injection but is having problems finding the proper fuel rail to use a fullsize truck will not work as the regulator is on the wrong side so it will hit the upper intake, the stock one for a mustang won't work because the lines are in the wrong place the only one that we can figure will work is one for a 96-97 explorer with a 5.0 in it but we are having a real hard time finding one we have one but it is clogged so it won't work. What have any of you guys used when doing the swap? Or does anyone have a fuel rail for a 96-97 explorer with a 5.0? 98 and newer won't work as there is no return line so it has to be for a 96-97. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

u cant unclog the clogged one?

I bought a aftermarket for mine but not sure this will help for your problem.

I tried to unclog it I soaked it for a day and then blew it out with my air compressor and it seemed like it was cleared but then when we put it back on it still isn't getting anything out the return. What kind of aftermarket one did you get Fester and where are hte lines and regulator located?

Not sure how good you can see in this pic. The regulator is right below the throttle body and the return comes out of that. The inlet is at the front. I am not sure if they can be interchanged due to injector spacing cause you might be able to swap to the driver side if needed. Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions.

I think that might work the one for an explorer has the regulator in the same place but the inlet is at the rear on the drivers side but this might work. where did you get it and what brand etc is it so I can look into it a little more? I appreciate the help man we have been going from junk yard to junk yard trying to find another V8 explorer with the right rail nad it is getting really annoying.

Fester you are the man. And I love your truck can I marry it...

We've had it running a little when we crank it up it runs for a second then loads up and dies because its getting to much fuel being that the rail is clogged somewhere near where the return line is. We've tried a few other things thinking that wasn't what it was but I know it is if we blow air through it it will seep then blow then clog then seep and blow etc etc but nothing will come out of it and you can see some rust in the rail when you pull the injectors out so I'm sure that what it is.

If I spend to much more time on it I might have to marry it Let me know how it turns out and if you just need a fuel tail I still have the factory Mustnag one if that will help? Let me know.

I got a factory mustang one but the lines are in the front instead of the rear so it isn't quite as simple as the explorer one was but we might make it work.
