You can see on my pic that I left the stock hinges on. They were attached the entire time while mockin up the door, then when I was ready to swing the door to see if everything was cool I unbolted them, definitely the easiest way in my opinion.

thats exacly how i did mine, and advice for n e body wanting to do these on a k-5 blazer..................dont the back side of the door janb pocket is crazy

i second the leave-o stock hinge-o method. make sure its aligned how you want it on stock hinges first. those kits have little adjustment, so, get it right before you start.

one thing ive thought about, has anybody made the inner bracing a bolt in setup? wouldnt be hard, just wondering if it worked as well. that way you can get into the door without cutting.

My truck ...both doors done

passenger side..shows placement of hunges...ig you look closer I used 1" sq. tubing in a reverse "H" patternas reinforcement and verticle piece of 1ny sq tubing between the hinge pockets in the jamb(not shown) I jsut couldnt settle with the plate of sheet metal covering access holes incase I needed to repair anything with the power windows...alos notice, i placed the Stirker in ther door and the latch in the piller.

illpost more later..Photobucket is being tempermental..........grrr and i ve got get to work...

Anybody have pics of suicide rear doors on a car? I'm wanting to do my wagon but I will only have room for one big hinge due to the curve of the door.

another easy tip is to take a long piece of all thread (kind of like a 3 foot bolt w/o the head) from home depot & a bunch of nuts to line up your hinge pockets before you weld them so that they're perfectly aligned. that way there won't be any binding issues. even if there's the slightest bind (you might not really even feel) there's a good chance your body filler around the pockets on the cab side will crack. i always hate seeing that at shows...
