salvage title doesnt always mean wrecked.... toyota 4 runners for example, smash out all the windows and its salvage, costs more to replace than half book value. i had a friend have his truck stripped, wheels, system, interior, etc... insurance decided to salvage it.... just find out why they decided to issue a salvage title.

my 92 toy was salvaged because i got rear ended and i needed a new bed. so you should find out why it is salvaged

dont always trust carfax, a buddy of mine worked for a shop and his boss fixed some messed up cars but the carfax was clean

what state is it in? Here in texas I have owned 4 salvage vehicles. and only one of them had frame damage and it drove fine, the others were salvaged because of theft or body damage. Also here in texas no special inspection is needed for them to get back on the road.

I do inspections here in texas and see salavage title vehicles all the time cause they need a VI-30 form to get the registration, and speaking from experience there really is no special inspection, i just do the normal like any other car. I would say check it out completely like everyone else is suggesting.

is it salvaged(not allowed on the road until inspected) or rebuilt salvage which has allready been inspected? you may not be able to pass an inspection if the frame has been altered therefore not be able to register. my buddy had a salvage bagged truck, in fact it was in mini truckin many years back. but it had been rebuilt and inspected long before it had been bagged.
