What's the story with the titles and vin's?

well i originally bought the runner wrecked with a rebuildable title so i was like cool and rebuilt it ....when i went to get it inspected and a rebuilt title they said no dice due to me of buying it from a wholeseller rather then a dealer which he didnt tell me that i assumed he was just an individual selling a truck .....so i figured screw it i was gonna chop it up anyway so i decided to use my 98 taco v8 roadster to use for the foundation of this build and figured id just drive it as it was my taco ...but it ended up having the runner vin plastered all over it so i approached the dmv with my story (for the 10th time) they said no prob we will come out and witness the vin switch (i brought my stepdad whose a cop) after arriving to my house she sais hey this is more of an assembled from parts case so fine i made an appointment for the following day with my affidavid typed and all my recipts .....30min before my appointment she called me and said sorry my supervisor said it has to be complete and driven up there to be inspected .......so thats where i am now no title (except a clear taco title and a salvage runner title) a busted windshield and tryin to get it ready to drag to the dmv and have them give me more B.S.

sorry to hear all the trouble man...but look on the bright side, you're gonna have one hell of a truck when all is said and done.

yeah im gonna get it legit one way or another ....i want to sell my 06 taco just to start driving the 2runner everyday i just love the look of it and its a one of a kind plus its something i dreamed of building and i'm actually pulling it off so its a rush for me for sure

put some base coat on the fenders for the helluv it and mounted the bumper

Does it have a side window in it in the second(drivers side) shot or is it just the photo? If it does what did you use? Good lookin build btw, very creative.

i cut out a mock up window for a pattern have real ones made out of 1/2" tited lexan

& oh yeah, updates

well ive got the steering all done the computer and wiring all ran all under hood fuse box and wiring is all under the dash behind the radio put in my 06 taco bench seat....also got the exhaust back on and the too big radiator in it .............as of now i need to run the brakelines and hook up the fuel lines and it will be road ready other then the inside metal work(still need a sheet of metal) and the interior ....i did get all my new bags shocks lines and fittings to put on soon
