ok. so i got pulled over a couple weeks ago for altered suspension and illegal display of license plate. guess i was ridin a lil low. with out warning the officer confiscated my license plates and told me to tow it home, and i had 15 days to make the repairs to it to make it legal or he would turn them into the DMV.so at this point i have had the rear suspension redone so that it gets more lift in the rear to get me to the height stated on the law. the crappy part of the whole thing is that court isnt til june 23rd and to get my tags back the cop has to come out and reinspect my truck. if hes in a bad mood or jus feels like bein a jerk he can go ahead and just turn my tags in and make me fight it in court. coinsidentaly this is the same officer that pulled one of the guys over in an excursion with 12 inches of lift and 40 inch tires and didnt take his tags. apparently my lowrider is more dangerous than a truck that if it hits someone will completely drive over them!

well the cop is coming out today for the reinspection of the truck today. hopefully his wife gave him some last nite and hell be in a good mood! i feel like i lost my kid without my truck!

lose the attitude about the excursion and you should be ok. apologize for breaking the law and hope for the best.

if you cant pay the consequences for breaking the law, then don't break it.

oh its not like. i built the excursion. i have no problem payin the consiquences. its not about that. its jus about why u would confiscate the tags from one vehicle and not take them from the other which is clearly more unsafe than the one you took them from. it not bout the money or anything like that. jus the fact that the law is changed at the officers discression. when the law should be the law wether its a lifted truck, a lowrider, or a hotrod. not only for the vehicles that the officer doesnt like! i have many officers in my family. this is not a bash the police thread. i jus want the law to be treated fairly.

Well i dunno what ur law is in ur state but if u have a 2 wheel drive vehicle the suspension isnt suppose to be altered more than 2 inches but 4 wheel drive there isnt a law as long as ur bumper is at a certain height... Oh and also 2 wheel drive you arent suppose to remove the oem spindles either they got crappy laws for the lowrider crew thats just part of it

Good luck and hope it turns out ok. Some states are tougher than others.

its Virginia. all the law says is the bottom of the bumper cant be lower than 14 inches, and that the chassis cant be modified to where the chassis come in contact to the ground under normal working conditions. so we redid the back to get me to 14 inches and put in a removable bumpstop so when i lay it out it doesnt hit the ground. (cop doesnt know if it hit the ground prior to my repairs cuz he never asked me to lower it) so hopefully thats enuf!

in my state (WA) you are allowed to have altered suspension...juice and airbags and you can hit the switch under 25mph...but like other people were sayin i would just put on ur happy face and play the game they want you to

thats really all you can do! we shall see what happens this evening when the cop comes by.

I don't know where you heard that, but cops will find a way to get you. The only law on the books is that nothing on the vehicle can hang below the bottom of the rims. But I know plenty of people who have gotten reckless or negligent driving tickets and have been towed for unsafe vehicles when they were hitting switches. Mostly by State Patrol.I have talked to a few cops that said they don't care, but there are those other ones out there that do. So I just don't hit switches in front of cops.
