Dont know about the tank. I think it is legal. My truck likes to be pretty low right now but I will solve all that pretty soon.I gotta stretch my arms and steering then I can put on new shockmounts and shocks. What shocks are everybody running? I had a post about shocks but didnt really get any answers. I might start a new one.

Well here is where I am now. I was all set to take the truck to the shop to get arms and messed around and solved my driveability problem!!! The hole thru the spindle for the tierod heims was elongated! It had the smallest bit of play so I was trying to tighten it and the whole bolt turned and shifted. Tightened it up and went for a spin. Felt good. Maybe I can put a thicker sleeve in the hole in the spindle? may have to get a new spindle but it rides good at any height so it will be worth it!!! Now do I go ahead and get the arms or do other stuff with the money cause Lord knows I have tons of other stuff to do. What should I do?

Im glad you kept the truck so far.
As for the traffic stop, do some home work! There are a lot of officers out there that have no idea what laws apply to which situation. Such as ride height, lights, transporting bottled gas, tint, music and on and on and on. Many believe that just because it is illegal in 1 situation it is in all but that usually isnt the case at all. Search your local statutes at the worst you could be sited and then have it thrown out in court.
Around where I live a few years ago officers got on a huge kick of ticketing people over lights. Under body, turn and stop lamps and those stupid lighted windshield squirters that EVERYBODY had. Local law says no flashing or rotating, so as long as they dont flash or rotate you can have any color or colors you want.

In michigan, cant have blue lights, anything facing forward needs to be amber, besides headlights and red facing the rear. No neons, strobes, etc. There are laws on bottled gas but I am not sure, more of a dot thing. I know with propane, I can carry s many bottles under 100lbs each that I want, but 1 over 100lbs I need dot permit, etc

The worst ones they write in TN are for Tint and Bumper Law.
(2 Low, or 2 High, and your Hitch does NOT count towards it)

Just plain stupid!!!!! I do not understand all the petty BS tickets there are MUCH more important things for them to address with their time!

You are right... very right.. but writing these stupid little bullshit tickets pay off for them really well...
