I agree depends on the truck. I have always loved that style. One of the trucks that really got me into this had a camper shell, stock paint and stock rims but it was one of the baddest looking trucks I have ever seen.

Campers have many advantages and disadvantages.
First off have to look at proportions and paint scheme, will it be solid will there be grahpics. Also do you want to appear really low, then a camper might not be the best cause it raises the lines of the truck.
Do you want to run a huge stereo and the space is needed?
As noted also look at open bed vs closed bed it will change classes depending on how classes are determined.
Finally have to look at personal preference and what you want out of your truck. A dry place to sleep maybe or a blow thru and more space to roam.
Good luck and if you decide to post pics to see how it looks.

I had one without wondows on my first mini, it sucked. I liked the look but was dangerous to drive. You had to contantly pay attention to who behind you and beside you, this leave little time to watch the front...lol I enjoyed it becasue i had 4-15's in hardbody, just wasn't the safest.

i think it would be cool to have some extra seats back like a blow through. as far as paint and classes at shows the paint will be one color and i'm not too worried about show classes i really only attend shows to hang out with friends.

I had a shell on my old toyota. I loved it. The shell on Wes's dually totaly made the truck. That thing looks like a locomotive going down the street.

I used to sell A.R.E. camper shells, and had one on my old Sonoma (I think there is a pic on my profile under the Saturn Vue). I loved it, except for the visibility. If you are used to using your mirrors, it wouldn't be too bad. I thought it looked bada$$. It was pretty watertight, except for around the tailgate, but there is a tailgate seal on the market to fix that.
