no prob dude, that's what i need is input and ideas. I appreciate your opinion, i was just thinking of hot rod flames for the obvious reason, and the fact that i could make them flow from my arm onto my chest and back. And to me, sleeves that are just a bunch of unrelated things with a lot of ink and shading to cover up the empty space between aren't for me, although i think they look good.

KP, i agree with everyone, i know you think you know best when you're 18, but seriously, if you want something big, get something on your upper arm or back at first, then you can show it off when you want to. I can't tell you how much i wanted to get my forearm tattooed when i was 20, now i'm so glad i did'nt do it, cause i would'nt have the job i have now. I agree with lx, tattoo's don't have the negative connotation they used to, but there are still a whole lot of companies that absolutely will not hire you due to large visible tattoos showing. I have both of my earlobes pierced at 2 gauge (i started with regular holes and stretched them over the course of 2 1/2 years), but everytime i go to the office for corporate meetings, i have to put in plugs that look like regular diamond earrings if you don't know what you're looking at. My supervisor and his boss and all of my co-workers either think the earrings and tats are cool or just don't care, but at the corporate office i'm talking to presidents and ceo's of a multimillion dollar corporation, i'm talking about the kind of guys that wear suits and ties to a bbq, you know? I've always said i wanted to be rich so i can:1. Open up a fatass themed amusement park with huge seats and shoulder harnesses so fatty's like me can actually ride roller coasters in comfort. In this park would also be movie theaters and resturants with seats built to accomodate our bulk, and 2. Start a huge company and have a totally unrestricted dress code. I'd love to have a multimillion dollar company and have meetings in shorts and sleeveless t-shirts, lol.

Ok, i gotta go to work now so i'll quit rambling. Guys, weigh in on design ideas or what you think i should do (lucky, i'm looking in your direction since i know you had some tats removed so your armpiece would look right). And dub, if you can't tell, i'm really laid back, and i welcome all opinions, whether they are in favor of my ideas or against.

I started this tattoo years ago and haven't had the time nor money to blow on it and get it finished until recently. I consider it a half sleeve because it starts exactly at my elbow and goes over my shoulder and all the way around my arm. My entire bicep into my armpit will be covered when its finished. You can see it poking out from under the short sleeve shirt. I'm a pretty big guy myself, my chest measures over 50 inches and I have some pretty good sized hams as arms too, lol, so I know where you are coming from Jumbo. If I were to have paid the shop that I started it to finish it I would have had around $1000 into it. Luckily for me a friend of mine that tattoo's stepped up and said he would finish it for a really good price that I couldn't pass up. He started up on the shading last weekend and we are supposed to more this weekend.

Jumbo - To carry a design over from your arm to your shoulder then to your chest and be able to pull it off is going to take a lot of work. You won't be able to do that with flames. It will need to flow, and this will definately take some thought and time to draw up a design that will work on your specific body. Problem is most people don't want to do the leg work or they want to have cash before they start. After al, thier art is thier paycheck.

I apprenticed for over two years at a tattoo shop, and I'd be more than willing to try and help you come up with something more original if you'd like. If you want, you can email me at starion88esir at yahoo.com and let me know some ideas of what you're wanting done.

I am in the same boat as dub, flames and tribal won't ever be on my skin, unless the flames have something with them. Tribal is a big hell no. I hate that shit.

BTW- I've got 2's in my lobes as well, what the hell do you put in them to make them look like diamonds to some people? I run clear flared lucite plugs and ran flared SS tunnels before and 9 out of 10 people didn't notice I had my ears pierced until I mentioned them. Took one boss 8 months to notice because the clear lucite takes on the flesh color.

KP- i don't know if you have any tattoos now, but i would wait till at least 25 to start a full sleeve... unless you have some unreal trust fund. exposed tattoos change your life. you may say that you don't care, fuck what the common person thinks, but the first time you get treated like shit because of some ink, it makes you want to stab someone.

i'm tattood from wrist to shoulder on one arm and from shoulder to about mid fore arm on the other. i could tell stories all day about how i get seated in the corner of resturants, how people pull their kids away from my general direction in stores, how people don't take me serious...

anyway, i'm rambling. i love tattoos. i just hate to see an 18 year old with a full sleeve. i have a full arm of tribal shit that i regret quite a bit... that i got when i was 20. i would love to have the opportunity to tattoo that skin with something of significance to me instead of just some bold black lines.

i could go on and on all day about tattoos

i have tattoos on my head my ands and all up my arms and no one looks at me any different, and ive never had any negative work experiences at all. maybe its cuz im in cali

starion, i'll definitely email you, and i guess i should have been more specific, in my ears (around the office, which i only have to go to once a year), i wear plugs with cubic zirconias on the ends. Here they are:

http://cgi.ebay.com/STEEL-BULLET-CZ-GEM-EAR-TUNNEL-PLUGS-0g_W0QQitemZ140241329508QQihZ004QQcategoryZ98541QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

If you just glance, they look like diamond earrings, if you look close you can see the o-ring holding it in.

oh yeah, and i have the cash for it, i just figured i'd let the dude draw on me and see what we can come up with as far as the flow.

Damn, I wasn't sure if it would work or not. I tried to post it off my myspace account but oh well. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=277797324&albumID=531829&imageID=11692896 try this link and see if it works. When I started mine it was all done freehand then transfered to paper and touched up and then transfered back to my arm, if i remember correctly.

yeah, i looked, looks like it's gonna be badass. any other suggestions?

Get what you want, who cares if a million other people have it. In 10 years if flames aren't cool to the people who got them because they were mainstream, I will still think that mine are cool and always will.

i don't have time to give you a good reply, but i will definitely revisit this thread next week after STC.
