anyone know if 4x4 720 ball joints have higher angle rates (degrees of movement) than 2 wheel drive joints, and will they fit standard 2 wheel drive spindles?

no, the balljoints on the 2wd are the same as the 4wd.

are you doing a 4x4 or a layed out truck?

layed out. I haven't started on it yet, just trying to get info on all the parts I'll need so I can engineer it properly. Thanks for the info, man.

if you need an upper balljoint that fits the Nissan upper spindle hole, look at a mitsubishi mighty max upper balljoint. it fits and bolts in.

I'm pretty sure he's looking for a stock size replacement that will allow the most travel so he doesn't have to run through ball joints or suffer through a crappy ride due to failure.

and im sure hes looking for balljoints that will fit the stock spindles and bolt in so he can either build or mod some control arms for a drop or raise. I know which lower balljoints bolt into a Nissan spindle, a mitsubishi lower does and I know that a nissan upper is bolt in and the same from the 720 thru hardbody.

that way you have bolt in joints that can be adapted to any other arm or you can make arms with the correct balljoint angle.

LOL. You guys are good. I'm AM looking for a bolt in joint for some custom control arms, and I'm also looking for good amounts of travel. The most important thing I'm looking for is reliability and good ride quality, since the purpose of this project is to drive it to shows up and down the east coast. Thanks for the info, guys. I'll check into the Mighty Max joints.

Twisted Mini's is making upper arms for 720's that will have the right angle with a stock balljoint to lay 18's. I know Im gonna order a set soon.

if the upper balljoint angle is flat, by that I mean not up or down in relation to the bushings or mounting points, you will have plenty of travel and no binding even on stock balljoints.

the lower balljoints should be tilted back at the top about 4 or 5 degrees and you will have no binding.

the arms will be close to bottomed out at layed lout and go way up till the bags top out and still have travel on stock balljoints, no matter who makes them.

there is NEVER a need for uniballs or other joints other than looks. when the truck is layed out the balljoints should be at almost bottom travel.

Nice! Thats pretty much exactly what I need. I'll have to check 'em out. It sure would save time if I didn't have to build 'em myself. Now I just gotta save my pennies, lol.
