CUSTOM MAILBOXES

Hey yall. I just bought my first home, and was looking for ideas for a cool mailbox. I thought about a small block ford motor with the mailbox as the intake/Blower with a carb sitting on top. What do some of yall other ppl have for mailboxes?

When I lived in La... I took a Crankshaft from an 855 Cummins and Made my Mailbox stand out of it,,,Since the Postmaster General Frowns upon anything other than "STANDARD" boxes I did the Next best thing.

that wooden mailbox is really nice

I've been wanting to do something with a mailbox for a long time...I may finally get off my ass and do one.....I think it would be cool to see some cool, custom one off type of mailbox stands...lets face it...who wants to put a sweet looking mail box like the ones above on a plain old wooden post or the same old same iron perch? Lets see something made out of an old rim, or link bars, or even some laser/plasma cut type of stand. That would be cool.

I made a mailbox out of 1/4" steel plate and 6" black pipe. It looks just like a normal mailbox, but if the kids ever decide to play mailbox baseball, they're gonna be sorry.

I always wanted to cut my post way down to where the box was a foot off the ground. LOL I'd probably be drivin to the post office to pick up my mail tho. Around here you might as well just put a target on it.

Quick funny story.

My friends once decided to throw a cinder block at a random mailbox (we were young and stupid). My buddy leans out the window and chucks the block. Unfortunately, the mailbox was made out of dock pilings. The cinder block bounced off the mailbox and smashed into the side of the car. Needless to say, it was my other friends, girlfriends car and she was PISSED! Lol.

By the way.....Humanmachine. I forgot the procedure on how to do that woodgrain. Could you explain it real quick if you remember? Thanks.
