they were made for railroads as mentioned before and also national forest services. they show up alot around new mexico arizona and up north washington and oregon.

That would look cool. should be a pretty easy stretch if you got a extra cab and some extra doors. Like said before all the glass is flat so cutting it to size is pretty cheap. you should be able to stretch the window cranks apart also so the entire window would roll down instead of just part of it. It would look even better if it was a five window cab.

I don't think there were any 4 door suburbans in this body style so short of finding a set of back doors off one of those trucks you'll just have to stretch them.

i think those doors have flat glass which any glass shop shoould be able to cut

Yes the glass is flat and you should have no prob getting it cut. As for the rear doors you could just cut 4 doors in half and use the backs of all 4 to make 2 doors.

Good call on cutting 4 doors to make the 2 rear. Didnt think of that. Now to find 4 extra doors..... as if I dont have enough crap laying around the shop for this truck. This project started a few weeks ago and has a dedicated bay in the shop and that bay is getting full quick!

Pete's Fabrication in Bowling Green KY is building one. Just took 2 cabs and made one. Best modification he did was raise the bed 6", looks a whole lot better than that huge gap below the window. It should be painted here before long, I know two mags are waiting for it to be completed. I will see if he has any pics he will let me post.

And by cutting the four doors, they are already suicide with hinges.

I'd love to see some pics of that Paul and thats right on the suicide door part!
