The pop noise is more than likely the top of the strut is lose. Grab the shaft of the sttut with some vice grips and make sure the big nut at the top is tight.

The wheel bearings are press in on those right??? Is it possible that one got damaged while being pressed in????

Just a dumb question, but is the heat sheild rubbing the rotor, or is there something stuck in between the two causing the squealing?? Also, sure it is not a belt or the starter or alternator??

THAT IS THE FIRST THING I CHECKED

Bump on the backing plate hitten the rotor & check the belts spray some WD on them see what happens is it a 5 spd or auto trans...poss input shaft bearing on 5 spds go out and diff bearings on the auto... the pop noise sounds like the caliper might be loose...

DEF NOT THE BELTS BUT ANOTHER GUY TOLD ME IT COULD BE THE THROW OUT BEARING FOR THE CLUTCH BUT IF IT WAS THAT WOULD THE NOISE STOP WHEN THE CLUTCH IS PRESSED?

Also check the dist they make a nasty squeel when the bearing goes bad but usualy they run like crap and have a check engine light...

WHAT DO U MEAN BY THE DIST?Sorry the distributor.. pull the cap off and look for red dust... If there is red dust the bearing is going out... I have been working for 13 years at honda as a tech so anything I can help with
