Oh no, I didn't take any offense at all. I just see guys that are so sure that what they know is right and because of that they will never find the problem. You are probably correct in assuming that it isn't the brakes and chances are that it can be cured with the steering stabilizers, but what if that doesn't fix it?

...Just keep an open mind to it all, we are ALL still learning.

From experiences with my roommates truck, a 2002 F350, 10" lift, 40" Traxxs (sp?) Boggers on 20" Rims, his "death wobble" started not too long ago anytime you go over about 45-50mph. Took it to the suspension "experts" and they couldn't diagnose anything, then we actually took a similar set of rims and tires from another buddies F350, threw them on the truck, mind you, these tires were almost new, compared to the ones on my buddies truck, which aren't that old, but more worn, and with the newer tires on it, it drove fine. So basically we diagnosed it being a tire issue. Put new boggers on it and now its rolling like a charm! Just thought I'd share that with you =]

Hope you get it figured out bro!!

New tires fixed my death wobble on my suzuki samurai crawler i had.

Steering stabilizers will only mask the problem.

The tires that are on it are only 33s, Ive had the truck for about two years now and this morning on my way to work was the first time this has ever happened, and it only did it at the higher speed. I drove the rest of the way to work, a few miles and nothing, it handled fine. But thanks for all of the replies. When I get off I am going to start checking things.

I only had 31's on my samurai and it had a death wobble. If the tires are used/old they tend to seperate the steel belts on the inside.

Thanks again for the input. I'll take it down to the tire shop and have them take the tires off and check them out.

Ive got a wobble problem. My silverado wobbles under braking, but the truck wobbles not the steering wheel. Mostly on long hills and such, or high speeds. I was under the impression that the front brakes were recently done when I bought it. Could this just be a sign that the rear drums need to be re-done ?

Not necessarily. There are far to many tings that can cause that to assume that it is anything specific.
