haha, i doubt anybody will guess this one. my valve cover. i took out some of the extra stumps for the emissions and wiring crap. also ditched the big hump in the front the sticker sits on. and i got all the casting flash and nibs out. i blocked it all. im going to prime it tomorrow, then block it again. thin coat of primer as a sealer then paint it. and clear. then ill sand it down to metal again on the two stripes and the "TOYOTA" logo. its a 20R style cover. its the orange 78 i have. i dunno if i should go semi flat black, gloss black, orange, silver, or something else. any ideas? and ill get better pics up tomorrow but heres a teaser.

also, heres a few pics of an old VW i parked by a few weeks ago. its the style of car i got my mirror from.

seth, why dont you get a lexus emblem and use panel glue to attach it to the cover? then prime and block around the letters so they look like they are supposed to be there.

thanks. i love that truck. i basically broke even in a trade on that truck. got it for 500 with my gov't check. and the 2k i got for the 92 i had (pics in profile) modded this one. webber, exhaust, header, stereo, lowering, ect. i still really want to get the back down some more, but i gotta make more ground clearance under there before i can do that. well, for being able to get in and out of my complex. i already get hung up in a few spots, and i drive pizzas with it. haha.

and to all you sickos out there that thought it was going to be smooth balls or something, you should be ashamed.

got the filler sanded down, and primed the whole thing. ill block it out again tomorrow, and hopefully i wont have to do more filler. but i might have to. we'll see. all i know, its its way too much time for a valve cover. haha.

and im not sure what color to do. im thinkin gloss black.

seth just pre warning. on my austin we milled off toyota and everything else for that matter except the two ribs off my valve cover and then put it in the oven on low temp to cook the oil that had impregnated the aluminum out. when we polished it you could still read toyota plain as day

it was funny but i was disappointed after 30 hours of cleaning milling sanding and polishing on a valve cover.

just a little heads up.
