4" blocks. the djm tapered ones. they were for a 3" axle tube, but ive got like 2.5 or 2.75. i bent the u bolts in to go into my plates. no biggie. and it rides pretty nice, until it hits big waves and then its a little bouncy. once i get nice shocks in there, i will consider adding the bumpstops back in and go from there.

i blocked it and reprimed it last night. then sprayed numerous coats of gloss black rustoleom style paint onto it. today, i sanded the ribs and toyota back to metal. then decided to dig through my oil caps, found a cool one, prepped it and sprayed it silver. figured it would go well with the ribs. and i also blacked out the little spark plug hold down tabs that go off the side of it.

another little thing i got workin on was my a/c tensioner pulley. it was the stock serpentine tensioner from a 94 crown vic, and i took a smog pulley from a dodge smog pump i yanked and put that onto there. im going to modify the brackets that held my old smog pump to hold that so i can stick an a/c belt back on. it was crank/ac/smog and crank/water pump/alt for the 2 belt circuits. i took off my smog pump and emissions crap, so i lost the a/c. i painted the tensioner silver, the pulley bolt silver, and the pulley and washers black.

heres a few pics. im a bit uphappy how the valve cover came out, since i scratched it in a few places doing the ribs and toyota. im probably going to respray 2 more coats onto the black to fix it.

by the way, im going all of this in a roughly 10x20 unheated garage with 1 light socket and 1 power outlet. haha. did alot of the truck outside in my grandpas driveway, and alot in the parking lot of my old complex.

before i can put this on, im going to have to get a new grommet for the pcv and the 4 rubber washers for the cover hold down. i have the new gasket and half moon head gaskets. but i figured id just replace all of that stuff at once. ill probably end up using the cover i take off of the truck and do a repeat of this project, but a few things different that i learned along the way. and i plan to also shave the big post in the top for the air cleaner and relocate the pcv to somewhere on the back of the cover or rear at the side. to clean up the top some more. and i will probably weld the next one instead of jb weld.

so if anybody wants me to start doing ones like this, i can. like 75 bucks or something in whatever color you decide on. just a thought. im always lookin to make some money. i can probably get them powdercoated for a bit extra, since i know a guy who does it. ill probably powder my next one.
