Well I got the stock spindles put back on and got enough clearance but now the truck does not lay out. I measured the upper cups and they ended up being 2.25" tall so I might just measure the highest gap from the ground to the bottom of the truck and what ever the measurement ends up to be add that to the upper cup and just make new ones. But I do plan on putting the drop spindle back on. Here are some pics

All UP

LAYED OUT- notice the gap

You can definitely fit a 2600# bag in there. You'll need to make sure the lip on the backside of the coil pocket is removed but I think a 3" cup will do the trick.

I've never had a lift issue on a 1st gen (or any S10 for that matter) so this is only a suggestion...look and see if you can move the lower bag mounting hole on the arm toward the pivot (inward). It's a leverage ratio so even if you can only move it a small amount you'll notice more stroke.

stock spindle, drop spindle doesnt matter as much as the need for the bag to be fully compressed when layed out. The bag also needs to be as far in toward the bushings as possible. the closer to the bushings the more lift you get.

Thanks guys for the suggestions and input. I am trying almost everything that people are suggesting to make this work. So I guess i will go out and try to move the bag around and see if that makes a difference.

ok i didnt read the whole thread. so im not sure if this was covered. did you cut your upper bag cup? if so whatever you cut off of your cup doubles in drop and you will lose that same ammount in lift too. you can try getting new bag cups from suicidedoors.com. i cut mine when i was gunna run 22s just to lay. but now its not even enugh to clear the tire but i can still turn lock to lock.

bro not tryn to be a dick but how much does your bro weigh to drop it that much that he cant turn,is he running shocks on the front?

No I did not cut the cups at all. We had a close friend do the truck since I don't have the material to do it and I never bodied dropped a truck. This was there first time doing an s10 and so they made cups instead of us buying them to try and help us save money. So when the truck got done we notice that the truck didn't get enough lift to clear the 20s. So that is when I measured the cups and notice that the cups happened to be .75"- 1" to short. All my brother wants is for the truck to lay out but still get just enough clearance to clear the 20s.

I honestly dont know what youre talking about bro, that first pic of it lifted is (a) enough to turn without rubbing the tires and (b) about the same amount of lift youre going to get with any bodydropped s10 on 20s. If it goes down when he sits in it then you arnt running enough pressure, simple as that.

Youll 100% want to run 2600 bags, they should not rub the lower arms at all but you will need to trim the frame more. They also get more lift at a lower psi so you wont have to worry about pressure. The main issue youre going to run into is that the upper balljoints will bind at full lift, right about at where they are in the first pic. So I really doubt youll be able to get anymore.

You can lay with stock spindles but you will need to cut the frame up quite a bit for the lower control arm clearance, youll have to run a super short upper cup, and youll have to worry about the upper balljoint binding before its layed out.
