Dave, i feel sorry for you, did you do the teardown, or did you sub that shit to bmw. At least you have good equipment tho. I doubt that car could be done on anything less than car-o-liner or Celette

Yes I helped with this build this was only the tear down, the floor ened up coming out as well.

the funny thing is we took the job on just to show the insurance company what we could do. Every nut bolt washer and clip was OEM from BMW just to see if it would total we added everything possible to the estimate but still no total. Just for fun we wanted to see how close we could get it on all the test points. We are allowed 3 axis 3mm tolerance on all test points. on this car we were within 1mm on all points that we repaired. it was a b**** cuz we had to weld parts to the rack and make other thigs to hold the car in the rack while we cut it apart.
The customer didn't want the car fixed he wanted a new one, so he ordered another car at the dealer. when we delivered the car to him he canceled his order for the new car. we actually took it to the dealer to have the lights cleared and what not. At the dealer our paint looked better than stock. we ended up doing a complete paint job to make it look nice and buffed the hell out of it. Took about 7 weeks from start to finish, waited a week for some parts that came from germany.

we do alot of BMWs at work but never that invlolved. we did have a newer 5 series in the shop t boned like that but it totalled. never fixed one, but have helped take out the dash and motor out of 3 5 series. we just had one leave, a brand new M3, with 300 miles on it, pulled out in front of a car.

Damn!Thats a BIG job! I figured that had to be a 7 series before I read what you posted. (From the rotors and the upper rails) Only a week for the parts from BMW? Thats not long at all compared to when I worked for a BMW dealer. Sometimes we'd wait for 2 weeks just for a core support. But then again our parts guys were dipshits!

zander- if you've pulled a dash then you know how much of a pain in the a88 it is, this thing had more electical connectors than I've ever seen.

Jason- we actually didn't start working on it untill we go all the parts in, which was almost 2 months. we had to wait for little odds and ends.
