Two tone job on stock paint.

i did my 06 xb two tone by just doing the area i wanted .fine lined it scuffed the top and paint then clear pulled tape and there you have two tone over stock paint.it does leave a good edge so i would recomend pinstriping it.1st two tone...

6 months later did it again...

and also did my s-10 the same way.

looks good. I take it that you didn't clear the entire car again. How is the line?

you can feel the line because there are now a few more coats over the stock but its no big deal with a painted stripe or even sticker stripe.the s-10 didnt get any thing but the xb will soon have a painted stripe.

i guess that I really shouldn't be worried about feeling a line, I should be the only one touching it anyways

im not sure what you mean by seeing the line? we're only talking a few milimeters of difrence ,yes you can feel it but it doesn't cast a shadow if thats what you are refering to. without a stripe i only get some wax showing up but it rubs off.no big deal.
i sold the xb to my girl friend and now she wants a full color change to green on top and black on bottom with a subtle graphic.
i will let you know how it goes. i have only had it a year and time for the 3rd paint job.....oh well

You have never seen a paint job where you could see the tape lines?Did you paint the rain channels or leave them black?

i left the roof moldings ,and all the squirters black. my favorite thing is the pillars that are color matched.i also two toned the center piece arond the srereo but i dont have pics of it.my two tone line meets in the jamb with the upper dash pad so it will be smoothed and painted also when it gets color changed soon.i also sprayed the mirrors blackwith some texture so they would blend in with the glass.
