yea ive heard of people doin that, but i just dont feel safe even though everyone says theyve never had problems. If the crossmember isnt right against the bed floor, im going to build a notch for it. Does this look ok? I wasnt sure if i need to gusset it, i cant put gussets on the bottom because i need as much open space as possible.
agreed, just notch and raise it like this. Measure with the bed on and make it come as close as possible. Remember also that the more you tilt the center pice forward the more room you will have.
