Max, SSM should give u the ability to close a thread if u feel something like this shouldnt be discussed any further.

I think that it goes both ways. Should everyone do it, NO. But would you rather know that if they are going to do it they will with the proper instructions instead of learning from the guy down that street that welded shit to his pumpkin and "its been there for years and I never had a problem" or "a guy I know did it and its been on the road for years". The internet has tons of good info and tons of bad info, I personally would rather have good info. Maybe we should stop telling people how to bag trucks because he might butcher it like some of the other rides we seen here. And I think that closing the thread is just going to push people to a different thread or forum, why do that?

maybe a dumb question but... are most spindles cast iron? or are they some high carbon steel?

Most spindles are investment cast steel. That makes them a lot easier to work with, but they still need to be addressed properly.

Just so you guys don't think that I am avoiding the question, I sent a PM to the original poster so that I can communicate directly with him and explain to him how to do it and what to watch for.

And thank you Russell, I wish they would do that for me...
