i picked up 48ft of 3/8 stainless line off ebay for less than $50......only issue is it is in 4 ft lengths...ok for me cuz of my tank location but maybe not for others.........i am using swagelok fittings which dont require any flaring.....issue here is cost...swagelok isnt cheap at all....i spent about $150 on 15 or so fittings....cheap for swagelok but not in general........parker A-lok and brennan make comparable fittings as well....check ebay....best place for swagelok style fittings

thanks tony. i too am looking into switching to hard lines and i was dreading having to flare all those damn ends. i'd much rather spend a little more money for these swagelok fittings since they don't need to be flared.

Try McMaster. I'm looking through they're catalog right now. A 6' length of 304, 3/8" SS tubing (0.049" wall) is $26.40 each. 1/2" is $29.40ea. The real expensive part is the SS fittings. www.mcmaster.com

how tuff is the stainles to bend?i have to bend acr hard copper sticks at work and that is tough to do without cracking it, stainless seems like it would be even harder.

if you use copper, home depot sells it in 10ft sticks for a decent price, i got 50ft of 1/2 inch copper line for about 55 bux, also watch the scrap bins at your local metal surplus, my buddy here got 80ft of 3/8 stainless lines for a little under 100 bucks man scrap isnt always a bad thing, it may just be a 10ft stick that someone maybe wanted 2 feet out of so the other 8ft they mark down to scrap price. also im not tryin to change topics but does anyone know the quality of shark bite fittings? theyre kinda expensive but are they worth it?
