I was jsut wondering what you guys do to make it through the winter with your bagged vehicles. I have been running into a few problems and was hoping you guys may have some easy fixes. First off my check valve in my viair leader hose is freezing shut and not letting the tank fill with air. is this normal? Also i was talking to my buddy that drives big trucks and he was saying that he uses a air brake conditioner that is used in the winter to keep the brakes working on his truck. I guess it is basicly alcohol and oil mix. Could i put some of this in my tank to keep the valves from freezing? Anything that you guys could suggest would be great. This is definitely a learning curve for me.

Napa-Air Brake Antifreeze. that will stop you air management to freeze up.

I have had two bagged daily driven vehicles, one of which I currently drive daily. Today it is 15 degrees in the great state of Michigan and I have no problems with it. I have had engine driven compressors on both of them, I mount my pressure switch, valves, and water seperator all inside the vehicle to help with them not getting to cold. That seems to work for me, Ive never added anything to the oil in the edc or anything, knock on wood everything continues to work as good as they do...

I've had a bunch of bagged dailys and I am a diesel mechanic for a bridge company, and our cranes and stuff all run off air. You can use air brake antifreeze, or heet to keep you valves and airlines from freezing, just add it in your tank.As far as the viair checkvalve freezing up thats pretty common but if you can get to it just put a lighter underneath it for about 10 sec or so and that usually works.

How much of the air brake antifreeze are you guys putting into the tanks?

depends on the tank size but it doesn't take much,a couple ounces last a pretty long time.

so I go to start my truck up yesterday to make sure everything is okay after sitting for a week and I go to raise the front and it will only move a couple of inches, when letting the air out the pass side goes down and a couple seconds later the driver side goes down, there are seperate valves on all corners. The rear fully goes up and down, do I have moisture somewhere in the lines or what else could it be? I know a little about it but wanted to know what anyone thinks it may be.
