mine had billets and I would put a towel in each rim and let the strap ride on the towel. i would go from each wheel to the corner of the trailor. aired up. i tried to lay it out on wood one time, and when i hit a bump, it jumped and the wood came out, and 2 of the straps came undone, and it bout fell off.

not a smartass. fix the leak. even still, if the suspension is set uyp properly, if you strap it through the wheels aired up, and it lays down, it will still stay tight.

i am goind too try the wheel thing too see how it works. are you looping the strap or hooking it at both ends??

either way. it just depends on if your strap is long enough. I have 2 short straps and 2 long ones, so I actually do it both way, just make sure your metal ends don't touch the wheel in any way. Also, they make some short straps for this reason with a d-ring on each end, about 18 inches long.

I always lay my truck out...with the wheels i have on it now im not able to loop the straps through, but i hooked my straps on the front of the frame and went through the bumper cover, and then off the axle in the rear.....

and let the hate begin, but i used some tiny ass tie downs... heres a pic.. but this was going to blood drag and the truck didnt move an inch..
