A hydraulic ram doesnt compress when you lift. It's not like a shock. So it would need either a accum to get motion or some coil at the end to transfer the pressure. Civic dropped coils were popular 'back in the day'. They were soft and rode nice. You can run them at the end of the ram or between the ram (with a washer) and some bridge. But no coils or accums it would just be solid placement.

yep. mount one end of the hyrdo ram to the car. the other end to a spring, and the other end of the spring to the car. it basically extends or reduces the distance from the spring to the car, while retaining the ride quality of that spring. FWD drop coils are a good choice due to similar weight.

Back in the day I ran a full stack of civic coils over my cylinders and it rode pretty damn good. I also had a shock idea where it would not interfere with the lift of the car, it would dampen the suspension only, but I never got around to making it.

Only problem with coils in a coil "over" scenario (different than what Aaron is doing) is the movement of the cylinder can cause wear and noise. Also the cylinder travel can come into contact with other parts on a car like the hood, or the cv boot should it be inverted.

On a truck you can juice it with coils and get a factory-like ride without the use of accumulators. Most people just run accumulators because it's so simple to do and they ride phenomonal.

My car is juiced with accumulators and I wouldnt juice a vehicle without them, mine rides very nice just as nice if not nicer than when the same car was bagged. Ans also I would def listen to Aaron as he knows his shit and I luv seeing what he juices and his setups he does tha whole art of noise boys rocks when it come to using Juice.

I had my Accord juiced back in 1995 with mini-coils around the ram. It rode decent, at least for its time, but the squeaking drove me crazy. If I ever went back to hydros I would run the accumulators, they make all the difference.

if they are installed right hydros will ride better than bags or the stock suspention and just because you have a coil over set up doesnt mean you will get that squeek check out the primered blue s10 on my web site i turned them bushings out that the cyclinder rides in. it rides great ask the owner. and if you are realy looking for something different ill be uploading some picts soon of the truck im working on and this is going to ride fanfrickentastic.

If you don't run accumulators or springs the only suspension you'll have is tire flex. The ride is extremely stiff. I ran straight cylinders on my Neon and my balls would hurt after a few minutes of driving! The only bonus was crusing with a car load of chicks because it was so bouncy, if you get my drift, LOL! After I put on the accumulators it was night and day. The best ride I've ever had in a "juiced" vehicle was a torsion bar hydraulic vehicle.
