how many people have problems with auto trans on the desiles. seams like everyone that uses the newer dodge truck have trouble with them slipping. and i know of the fords are fairly easy to burn up too.

Simply put as far as Diesels go in my opinion based on what ive seen over the years:

Motor:
Dodge = #1
Chevy = #2
Ford = #3

Trans:
Chevy = #1
Dodge = #2
Ford = #3

I have heard nothing but problem after problem with Ford Trannys. Ask John from Dropem how many trannys he had, ask Jason from Area 51 how many trannys he had. Dodges seem to hold up better than the ford, still hear of some issues. I know of nobody with a Chevy (allison) tranny problem.

I drove all three when I was buying, the Chevy felt the best to me mostly due to that tranny. Ive pulled with all 3 over the years, ill take the Chevy. I like the Fords look's best, Dodge until recent times still didn't know what a crew cab was so I would have never got one due to that alone. In the end I bought a Chevy, and I didn't look back.

i was thinkin this way from what i seen to the best of my knowledge

motor
dodge =1
ford =2
chevy =? lol

trans
chevy =1
ford =2
dodge =3

i know my frends 2006 or about that year dodge is havein problems from one trip from sc to virgina to get a parts truck.
and another friend has a ford it burnt out soon after he added a programer was added and chevy trans. i havent heard anything bad. i realy love the way the ford super duty looks and the room in the quad cab.

go with the 6 speeds manuals i guess.

All the people I know with Fords have had a problem with the tranny except my dad. He has a 7.3 Powerstroke and hasnt had any issues with it. Ive heard the new 6spd dodge trannys are already having issues. That new 6.7 Cummins is crap in my opinion. I know its supposed to have more torque/power then the 5.9, but Ive driven them both and the 5.9 feels stronger to me.

well i know it is each too his own. I have a 2006 dodge with a cummings/g56 6speed manual, i use it too haul cars,boats,freight or what ever never had a problem. the way i see it auto's are for my mom's minivan NOT a truck. i put aleast 3000 miles a month, it will get 23mpg empty on the road 12mpg with my 3 car loaded 17mpg with a single car and 14 with my 20ft elclosed.

the new ford's are just junk,IMO (go to your local ford store and look in the shop)

i am just not a chevy man. duramax = isuzu
