Don't ditch it, thats hack. Make it work and it will be there for you should all else fail.
So getting rid of ur e-brake is hack? So I guess tossing your airbag for a billet steering wheel is hack?....Shaving your doorhandle's is hack?...Shaving mirrors is hack? No rearview mirror is hack? I had to tub my firewall to an extent to where the is absolutely no room for an ebrake...Should i put it in the center console Camry style? Originally posted by thacru78

It is my opinion that ditching any vehicles emergency braking system is a bit on the hack side of things, you are correct. There are plenty of goood options for a secondary/emergency braking if you look around a little bit. Lokar offers some handle kits to set it up as a centre pull(camry style) that can be adapted to many vehicles. There is also a universal cable kit offered by them that allows for custom lengths and routing options. If the centre mount handle conflicts with your console you could put it in front of the drivers seat like a Fiero has. Thats how my dad set it up in his T bucket and it works well. There is also a pinion mount e-brake available that could be adapted to some vehicles with a bit of effort.
I'm not sure where the other points you have mentioned came from but since you brought them up I will take the time to share my opoinions on them. I've never had to remove an air bag wheel for a billet so I haven't put much thought into it. I would probably consider it as an option on my personal vehicle based on the fact that we as drivers survived without them for years, I typically don't log too many miles on my rides either. On the other hand if a customer came into my shop and asked me to do it to their truck I would say no. If they want to do it on their own thats their business, I will not be responsible for doing it to their vehicle though.
Shaved handles is cool by me, as long as you do a clean job of it. I do like to retain the mechanical release on the interior instead of just relying on the solenoids. Sometimes solenoids fail, its nice to have a backup in case.
No exterior rear views drives me nuts to drive so I always run them, there are tons of cool options out there for them so you can find one that suits your vehicle/personal sense of style fairly easily. Same goes for the wink mirror, it drives me crazy not having one in a vehicle so I always run them. Its always nice to see when Jon Law is on your tail, right?
My whole point is still the same as it was in my first post, don't delete safety devices simply because they are in the way. Do your best to work with the issue just like we do with all the other stuff that comes up when your building a ride and a better truck will be your reward.
