Ford Ranger 302 v8

I need help. I am putting a mid 80's 302 in my truck, and need to know how far back the firewall needs to be moved. Any help would be great.

the fire wall does not have to be moved back for a 302 it is very tight but it will fit, on the other hand i did move mine back 3 in just for room under the hood

The heater box will get in the way of the valve cover, especially if you are BDed.

I am body dropped, but have removed all heating and air-conditioning already.

u dnt have to move the firewall only thing i did was had to notch frame like a 1/4 of an inch to get header down u will have to cut out the lip around where the tranny tunnel starts upfront i jus did this in my 95 thats bodied thats with a mock block in it thats what it was orginal was going to look like till i decided to open up the pockets
