None, generally no need for one. Once you get one you find that they dont quite work like you thought they would.

don't listen to these guys, i hated my tablet the first week i had it to, after a month i love it and use it to surf the web. ill never use a mouse again, the pen tablet is at least twice as quick in movement once you get used to it, and the smaller the tablet the easier it is to scrol around, dont waste your money on anything bigger than a mouse pad. ive been using mine for about ayear now, it may take some weeks to adjust to, but its almost the exact same thing as having a touch screen eccept you dont get finger smudges all over the screen, allso my 4x6 was super cheap, its woth the money if you love to draw.

Nick I know 100's of designers, your the only one I know with that opinion.  Not that it makes you wrong, just trying to help the guy out.

I agree with Nick on this one, i have a Wacom 6x8 and i LOVE it... now i may not always be using the "pen", cause it does come with a mouse that works on it too. But i couldn't be happier, I'm constantly grabbin the pen to do things just cause it feels more natural. Yes it takes a little bit of getting used to at first, but once you get in the groove of it, it's all gravy. I myself don't use the pen 24x7, but my Art Director at my last job didn't even have a mouse, it was just the pen and always the pen... It's just personal preference really, but you'll never know if you like one until you've used to for a lil bit...

i love the shit out of my 5x7   it makes vector work so much easier   me and a buddy from class are working on a program for the hp touchsmart that you draw on the screen with a pen... sketch features and a more realistic outcome ... the best part is it will have different brushes ( chisel tip marker.. spray paint tips.. charcoal .. shading pencils.. everything ) itll be photoshop and illustrator compatable meaning it will work with corel draw and whatever else too.   probably wont be done until late may early june its our final project for the class   i hope it works out... if it does i could even make a rendering version of it for creating vechicle artwork specifically. so far the touchsmart's touchscreen works well but the touchscreen isnt as acurate as it could be.. but turns out its a software thing meaning we can make the pen accurate all the way down to a single pixel on the screen
