They both have their pros and cons.  I have done it both ways.  With it aired up, it is way more bouncy on the trailer but it is less hard on the truck.  If you do have a small leak like i do, when you loose air your straps become loose.  Now I trailer mine layed out.  It is a lot less bouncy because you don't have the truck suspension, trailer and the mini truck all bouncing at once when you hit a bump.  Just put your straps on and then lay it out and tighten the straps but be care not to fuck up the mini with the strap handles like i did on mine because the truck is so low.

I always tow mine aired up and cross strapped. It looks badass laid out, but it never budges aired up and doesnt beat up my rockers or frame. As long as you dont have air leaks then its just like any other regular vehicle being towed.

i towed my gmc from south carolina to california layed out and it wasnt a very good idea. i smashed my rear quater panels on the trailer pretty much right away. all the bumps in the road transfered right into the truck. once i realized what it was doing i aired it up a little and i was fine...

if its not bodied, i lay it out on the trailer then strap it. if it is, it gets boards under it were i know they wont fly out.

--------------------------------------------- Originally posted by dante8198 --------------------------------------------- Originally posted by Shortie I tow for a living. Best thing is to leave it up and let the trucks suspension do what its supposed to.   --------------------------------------------- This man speaks the truth. Of course if you have air problems with your air ride then you may need to tow it layed out. Personally I would rather tow aired up. Then you have the suspension on the trailer and the truck to absorb bumps.  If it is layed out and strapped down every bump is transferred into the truck. --------------------------------------------- I was towing a truck and had the whole upper A arm assembly rip right off the frame from towing laid out, from that day forward ive always used 3  3'' ratchet straps 1 of them from the back of the trailer wrapping around the rear end housing, the other 2 used in the front from either tow hooks in the frame rail itself or hooked to the lower A arms crossing the 2 front straps in a X fashion - I have done it like that for over 10 years and havent had a single issue
