In all actuality they arent to terrible to work on I dont think, the best thing to do front suspension wise is get your wheels and tires bolted up and do every thing you need to make it lay first. i.e. spindles, control arms in some cases, then notch and 4 link the rear like you would a truck, theres alot of room under these things, notch it to where the rear of the body in front of the rear wheel lays on pavement, then take careful measurements for the Z, with an astro you have the luxury of unbolting the front subframe, and zing it that way, which i would highly reccomend.
