got my class a cdl license yesterday yyeeaa!!

CDL class "A" is for driving a semi...Class "B" is for driving a straight truck.

bowtie, i start at tmc the 14th for orientation in columbia south carolina, training takes like 4 weeks then im with a trainer for a couple more weeks ,just to make sure i know what im doing ,then the 8th or 9th week they give me my own truck and set me loose on my own. they even pay you 650.00 a week for 4 weeks just to make sure you make some money in case you mess up on the hauls. oh yea and they pay you 350.00 week for orientation and training also.....i hope everything goes ok.....im going to call tmc in the morning and make sure everythigs good to go....man i cant wait!

I'm sure you will be fine. If you dont have one already, go out and get yourself a good CB radio. I doubt if the truck they give you will have one in it. My old boss could never figure out how i would drive to Chicago, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, etc without even taking a map. I tried to tell him you can find anything with a CB radio.

I used to tell ALL the drivers i trained there are only three things to remember about driving a truck:

1) you are never as close to anything as you think you are...
2) leave plenty of room to stop...
and 3) Dont try to go thru the drive-thru at McDonalds.
