has anyone used a 4wd blazer rearend with the disc brakes on their s-10? i wonder if they would bolt up or if it is to long, and need to be shorten?

the 89 4x4 blazer rear end i have is wider than a S10 and if you want disc's on your S10 just look for a extreme S10 and they have disc's from the factory

thanks i did not think of that

S10 Xtremes do NOT have disks from the factory, but 2wd Blazer Xtremes do. The 4wd rear is 2.5" too wide for your 2wd truck. Also, if you get all the disk brake parts, you can swap it onto your existing axle without much effort, you will need to open the cover and yank the axles out, not a big deal.

s 10 wharehouse on e-bay has the rearends out of an extreme blazer says they are the same length. 54 inches i will measure mine this week and find out. the guy is only 6 hrs away and has everything for new body styke dimes.

it depends on if its 2wd or 4wd. 4wds are wider.

There are a few at S&W Automotive Parts in Lithonia GA with 3:73 gears.  1-800-706-8826  Looks like around $350.

I have one question. i went to the Junk yard and pulled all the Brake components off of a 4 door 2WD 01 Blazer. Caliper- Caliper Bracket, and the Rear mount. I left the blazer axles at the junk yard. Get home and removed my drums off of my 00 Dime, bolted everything on and the Caliper assembly won't fit over the disc. It seems my stock axles are 1/2 in longer, and stick out?? Should have i kept the Original Blazer axles? are they 2 different sizes? It looks like I can trim a little bit here and a little there off of the Caliper Bracket and the rear mount to make it work (i hope). Anybody else have any experience with this?
