A frame is typically no taller than 4" and so the force is kept to a minimum. It's the longer stretches of flat that become an issue.

I just finished a frame made outta 2x3x1/4 that I am using as the tank....pressure tested it at 250 today....i measured with the caliper several times and didnt' measure any bow at all...its digital also so if it bowed at all it should read it. Held 250 all day.....gonna check it again in the morning. I don't see it being a problem.....

The force across a 12" length of 2x3x.250 at 100 psi would only be 3000 pounds. That is WAY reasonable.
