So my tank on my lightning is way to close to the ground, wondering who has sectioned their tank (cost?) and who got a fuel cell (which one? what sender?). If i went to a cell, it would have to be in the pretty much same spot. are their any other Ford Tanks i could use that would give the same result,  and be easy to bolt up?

i mounted a fuel cell in mine.  i just had someone build a generic cube shape aluminum cell.  i cut the hole for the sending unit to the same as the gas tank and bolted my stock sending unit in it.  then cut another hole for my filler neck.  i cut the neck way down so it was only the end and brought it up through the tank and out the hole i cut for it and bolted that in and sealed it with fuel resistant silicone and then drilled three holes for the sensors in the tank and stuck those in and sealed them.  pretty easy and it still passed emmissions and didn't trigger the engine light.  the truck thinks it still has the stock tank and the fuel gauge still works.  good luck.

Do you know how deep your cell is?the expo i got has a sell in the back but its just a generic 16 gal aluminum cell from summit. It has a universal sender that always shows full.So I need to know if I get a stock fuel sender if it'll work

If i had to guess, the deepest point is about 16-18", it runs from under the cab to the start of the rear wheel. It a huge 23.5 gallon. and i need to do something, it lays on the ground when laid out

nothing specifically for ford. I may just get another stock one, and have my guy start cuttin it down till we get a size that will work.

when i took mine out it was plastic, think you can still section it but i dont know how or who does it. I used a aluminum fuel cell from summit with the stock pump. Relocated though

I had mine sectioned and still uses all my stock equipment and still in the stock location and sits way above the rails. Only holds about 15 gallons now but its better than dragging gas tank.
