I'm posting this advising anyone to beware of a potentially dangerous incident when i had an Air Ride Technologies AirStrut snapped. When my PT started to make strange noises at the front and the ride was awful all of a sudden,i found the reason why...20,000 miles is all they've done, havn't pulled them down yet to see exactly what's gone as i've tried to contact them to see what they have to say and if i could send them back for them to at least take a look at and tell me whay think?,each time i keep waiting for an answer but i've had no joy,,i used this company as i thought they had a good reputation but even when the kit came it seemed a bunch of all sorts just thrown together,i thought i should of had some sort of outcome and not kept getting fobbed off, total ****e if you ask me very poor and dangerous too as the car veered across the road when summat broke,i guess you live and learn, they loved takng my money,i had to bin their rear bags and buy sleve bags too!i have always looked after the system too.

SORRY,I HAVE A VIDEO CLIP OF THE STRUT STILL ON THE CAR,SHOWING THAT  IF YOU GRAB HOLD OF IT,YOU CAN MOVE IT AROUND 2 INCHES FROM SIDE TO SIDE,BUT I CANT SEM TO POST THE LINK TO IT ON HERE,IF ANYONE CAN HELP PLEASE??

Double check your photobucket links I don't think you have the right file name for some reason? All I see is red x's.

use html

also b4 you start bashing, have you contacted them about this problem?

Thanks James I was trying to post the html for him when I saw that you beat me to it   I've heard this happening before with this product. I have heard that when you air up the bag to high you might pull the shock out which would make it move like the one in your video? I know of a guy that did that with his setup.

yeah i've heard of that too, but also could be maybe a broke upper mount like if the bearing assembly if it has it snapped, it did on my sunfire when i had it ultra low and hit a pothole which broke the plastic bearing and would knock all over the place

I would like to chim in a little bit here and reassure that this is not a common problem and most of the time (not saying this was his case) but this is usually caused by a shock wave or strut being driven to high or topped out, being that these are a high end billet aluminum adjustable shock they need to have enough rebound and compression to allow for a good ride quality this is why we give a collasped height, ride height, and extended height on all our applications. In most casses when driven topped out or close to,  the capture nut beats the top portion of the shock and because they're is not enough upward travel it will  eventually cause the shock to seperate. Every case is diffrent and realistically I can not make an accurate assessment with out seeing them and tearing them apart. We try to be the best at what we do and I think we do a damn good job of it and if I had these struts I would with out a doubt take care of  him but in reality these struts where discontinued 5years ago. If you have any questions please feel free to ask, and WE will do our part and take care of you the best we can.

This is a great opportunity to tell you about Hydroholics - hydraulic suspensions that do not "snap." When you want adjustability without these kind of issues, please contact us!

Yes as James stated, how about try your best and contact them befor you come on here and bash them. This is apparently not a bgi issue that they have dealt with befor, becuase it's not like everyone else is chiming in on it. Try your best to contact them and settle it befor you come put your's and their problems out in the open for eveyrone to rant on about.

kinda looks like you broke the shaft for the shock,  i have had the same struts on my PT for almost 6 years and have had no problems out of them.   where you riding low and hit something or what?
