gear driven suspension?

i was looking through my latest issue of MT and i saw a pic of a truck at Heritage 2K8 that had some sort of gear driven suspension i think. Anyone see this? whats the deal?

There are pics of the truck on drop jaw. The site is block here at work but I know it was a show where the green b/d bronco was I'll look when I get home but I did see the gear setup. Nice

I've been wondering about that setup. Saw it in MT and still cant figure it out. It is obvious its not finished but I can't tell what the final product is going to be and its kinda drivin me nuts. I love out of the box ideas.

must be like a cantilever setup but with gear

My guess is that it will act like a rear torsion bar.  Pretty innovative and cool way to think outside the box.

Yeah that is my setup. I'm pretty proud of the theory, however the entire setup you see in those pictures is gone now (including the backhalf, every single bit of it.) I came up with the theory, and JW Houk (jhouk2000 on here, one of my right hand guys at Heritage) designed it out. The beginnings of the setup that ya'll seen in the magazine was built by Ed Cain at Twist of Cain, but nothing more was done from those pictures. The truck is now at Parton's Hotrods in Newport, TN and we're redoing it all from the ground up. I'll link below to a couple of conceptual CAD drawings that we're sorta working off of. Cantilever arms were cut on a plasma burn table at JOY Manufacturing in Duffield, VA. The gears themselves are out of the cutting head of a JOY Continuous miner (if you're not familiar with Appalachian coal mining equipment, it's essentially a huge horizontal tiller designed to cut through coal seams).
