Anyone running them?
I have a stock floored 91 fullsize chevy. The frame is cut down on it and it is not Z'd. I was laying on a 20 before and I just purchased 22's and we are doing a whole new rear clip. I know the control arms have to be modified to lay on a 22, and since all my bushings and ball joints are worn out, I just ordered the choppin block arms. After speaking with choppin block, they said that I can lay with minimum cutting. It would mostly be cutting for the tie rods to clear and cutting out where the lower arm bolts in so it will clear and fold up farther. Each of this stuff was already cut and plated when I was on 20's. The spring pocket has also been cut for a 2600 bag to clear. They also said that you can lay on a 24 but it would be much more work.
So, I have installed the choppin block arms and bolted on the 22's (BTW, the cab is off and it hasn't been tubbed yet anyways) and the front crossmember is about 3" off the ground. The control are is pretty much laying flat on the surface of the spring pocket. It looks like we are going to have to cut the whole spring pocket out all the way up against where the lower control arm bolts on.
Has anyone ran these on a fullsize? Do you serious have to cut that much of the frame out?
