---------------------------------------------Originally posted by TOWNLOWI don't know what year LS you got it from, but the bolt pattern on the LS we built was a 5x108, NOT 5x114.3 like a Toyota. I'd double check the bolt pattern if I were you......--------------------------------------------- yeah they are 5x108. thought about trying to steal the rims off of my moms car to put on the pup but wont work with a 5x114.3

I havent checked that out but i will this weekend after I get the yota back on the road..   I talked to the guy with the other rear end and he told me to come get it that he didn't need it.. So the Mark VIII is the same as a Ranger/Toyota right?

nope they are a 5x4.25 not a 5x4.5 like the yota or ranger...but it is easy enough to have a machine shop re-drill them

WHat would be better to run between the two? I heard the cons about the LS rearend with the studs breaking.. Far as the strenth and over all quility of each!

I have had an LS for about 4 years with 20's, I have taken the wheels off countless times with never breaking a stud. The factory lug nuts suck but you wouldn't have to worry about that. Also the Mark rear-ends some are 5x108 and some are 5x4.5 it just depends on what year it is.

Well I'm going to check before I truble myself in getting it.. If push comes to shove I'll just get it re drilled.. hopefully i will have this thing showable by springfling 2010.. It will be complete SHOWFEST 2010.. I'm slowly getting everything to do the frame.. The metal work is being done by HOUSE OF HACK..

I would not have gone through all the trouble of getting my Mark VIII hubs drilled out to 5x4.5. I know that you can CHANGE the hubs over to Mustang hubs out of like a 99-03 with IRS. I would have done that but it was cheaper for me to get them redrilled. If I'm wrong, then sucks for me, but atleast I'll know for the next one I install.

your not wrong....all mark viii and t-birds IRS were all 5x4.5......yes you can do the cobra hub swap but that isnt nearly as cheap as getting them redrilled....i paid $50 and my lil bro paid $100.....it was easily $125 a hub for the cobra not including the bearings or labor since we didnt have a press
